Itinerary -
DAY 1 : ARRIVE HANOI
On arrival at airport you will be met and transferred to the hotel by our local representative. In Afternoon, have an view of the capital by a "cycle" visit, which will start around the Old Quarter of Hanoi, stop at Ngoc Son Temple located on the Hoan Kiem Lake (the "Sword" Lake). Overnight at the hotel in Hanoi. Please note: Standard check in time is 14:00. Early check in is subject to availability of the hotel Night activities suggestion: enjoy local beer at TaHien Streets, experience the ambience of sleepless street with life music, the young people of Hanoi and also foreign tourists. Hundred of bars and pubs in the Old Quarter are also at your disposal. Or just simple spend your time at shopping malls or various boutique Shops.
DAY 2 : HANOI CITY TOUR - TRAIN TO LAO CAI (B/L)
Today you will start city tour with Ho Chi Minh Complex included Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, his house-on-stilts & One Pillar Pagoda. Later, we will discover Hoa Lo Prison Museum, also known as the "Hanoi Hilton", was a prison used by the French colonists in Vietnam for political prisoners and later by North Vietnam for prisoners of war during the Vietnam War. Afternoon, we will visit Ethology Museum to discover about 54 ethinic groups in Vietnam. Next, head onward to the Temple of Literature, an ancient collection of courtyards, gardens and architecture built in homage to the Chinese scholar Confucius. Last day, we will enjoy a unique fascinating show of Water Puppetry, a traditional stage art of Northern Vietnam. Then transfer to the Railway Station to catch the overnight train to Lao Cai. Overnight at the hotel in Hanoi.
DAY 3 : LAO CAI - SAPA - TREKKING (B/L)
Today you will Arrive at Lao Cai Station at 06.00. Picked-up and transferred to Sapa by car (40km mountain road from Lao Cai). The mountain landscape of Sapa is magnificent and so different from what we have experienced in the South and Central Vietnam. Don't miss to stop to enjoy its misty pinewoods, graceful terraced paddy fields and get lovely pictures of charming Hmong or Dzao girls you see on the mountainside. After arrive in Sapa, we will have breakfast before leaving luggage at the hotel and hang around with our guide to Sapa market street, where you can meet the montagnards and admire their handicrafts made of wood, silver, or dyed and embroidered fabrics and clothes and visit Cat Cat village of the Hmong people. After lunch, drive to Lao Chai (10km from Sapa) and trek 5km to Tavan with stops at the villages of the tribal people Hmong, Tay and Dzay en route. Back to Sapa for overnight. Dinner at your own arrangement. Overnight at the hotel in Sapa.
DAY 4 : SAPA - HANOI (B/L/D)
Option 1: If today is Saturday, Sunday or Tuesday, nothing will be better than driving overland to a market of the hill tribal people, mainly from Flower Hmong ethnical group. Depending on the day, you can choose either Can Cau (Sat), Bac Ha (Sun)or Coc Ly (Tues). At 7 o'clock we will drive toward Bac Ha, about 110km from Sapa. With a dozen of tribes living in the surroundings, including Flower Hmong, Chinese, Nhang, Dzao, Nung, Phu La, Thai and King (or Viet), the market is extremely exciting esp. in the early morning. The winding road to Bac Ha helps maintain the colours (in both literal and figurative sense) of the area. The distance to Can Cau and CocLy from Bac Ha is 30 - 50km. In all these markets, we can meet hundreds of beautiful women from Flower Hmong tribe, who are famous for their wonderful craft and hand-made flowering clothes and textile fabrics, or intermingle with people from Black Hmong, Dzay, Dzao and other ethnic groups coming to the market not for purchasing stuffs, but for meeting and chatting - just once a week - like in a real cultural center. After lunchtime, you can hike around or take our car heading to further hamlets in Ban Pho, Trieu Cai, or Na Hoi. Back to Lao Cai Station later afternoon to take the night train from Lao Cai to Hanoi. (Lunch in Bac Ha, Dinner Lao Cai). Overnight at in the train.
DAY 5 : HANOI - HALONG - OVERNIGHT ONBOARD (B/L/D)
Toady you will Picked-up by car at Hanoi Station around 05.00. Before having breakfast, we can join the Hanoians in
their early exercises, esp. nearby the lakes, diversified from jogging, yoga, sword dance, fan dance, and taichi-quan.
After breakfast and a short relax, we will go on to Halong Bay via Bat Trang ceramic village. Located by the Red
River, the village has gained long time reputation since 15th century of making refined porcelain in many styles such
as celadon, crackle-glazed pottery, and raw terra cotta products. The pottery of Bat Trang is found everywhere from
Asia to Europe and excellent for souvenir. Overland to Halong, one of the two earliest World Heritages as recognized
by UNESCO for Vietnam twice in 1994 and 2006. Check-in our boat and enjoy a lunch of fresh seafood while the
boat goes about unusual seascape with thousands picturesque rocks and islets, beaches and hollow islands. We can
stop to visit some karst grottoes or just go swimming, or stop at abeach and enjoy the sunset on the sea. Dinner
and Overnight on the boat.
DAY 6 : HA LONG - HANOI - DA NANG - HOI AN (B/Brunch)
This morning enjoy the dawn on the sea in the early morning. The Vietnamese call the "East Sea" by a point-
oriented name "Eastern Sea", so you may guess how miraculous seeing the sunrise over the islets of the Bay. After
breakfast our boat will continue to cruise in marvelous areas, where almost each islet has its own name, adopting
its shape or reminiscent like Sail Island, Fisherman's head rock, Butterfly rock or Turtle islet etc. Take our car back
to Hanoi International Airport for a short flight to Danang. Welcome at the airport then transfer along the coast
to reach Hoi An Ancient Town. Overnight at the hotel in Hoian.
DAY 7 : HOI AN WALKING TOUR (B)
Today you will take interesting walk over the tile-roofed Japanese Bridge, visit taciturn Chinese Assembly Halls,
enjoy the attractiveness of ancient houses or listen to folk music of Central Vietnam at old club-houses. Later we can
stop at shrines or stroll into the market located by Thu Bon river, where you may find the same feelings of the
artists, who see the rooftops of Hoian a magical old world of Oriental feel and source of inspiration. This is also a
wonderful town to shop for lanterns, soft silk, raw silk, or get your clothes tailored within a day. Rest of day
will be free on your own to discover the town or cycling along Thu Bon to Cua Dai Beach. Overnight at the hotel in
Hoian.
DAY 8 : HOIAN - HUE (B)
Today proceed to Hue by the Hai Van Pass (the "Ocean Cloudy Mountain Pass") and enjoy the beauty of Lang Co
Beach before reaching Hue. Being recognized by UNESCO as the 1st Cultural World Heritage for Vietnam, Hue is
highlighted by the old royal architectural works and the most traditional Vietnamese lifestyle. We will discover the
charm of the city from the Royal Citadel, Forbidden City, Hue Royal Museum. Go on to Thien Mu pagoda and visit
the Tombs of King Tu Duc - the best-reserved monuments of the Nguyen Emperors since early 19th and early
20th centuries. Overnight at the hotel in Hue.
DAY 9 : HUE - SAIGON (B) - MORNING FLIGHT
Toaday you will transfer to Hue Airport to take the midday flight to Saigon. You will be welcomed at the Tan Son
Nhat airport and transfer to the hotel to check- in. Afternoon, we start the city tour at the Reunification Palace, the
witness of the fierce Vietnam War ended in 1975. The grand building today is a Museum and Hall of official
receptions. Nearby the Palace are the colonial-styled Central Post Office and the Notre Dame Cathedral, built
between 1877 and 1883 and one of the city'smajor landmarks. Have a walking tour on Nguyen Hue street to take
the photos of the Opera House and the Ho Chi Minh Committee (outside). From here, walking to Ben Thanh Market
one of the most typical symbol of Saigon to experience the daily life of the locals and do shopping the hand-made
goods there. Dinner at your own arrangement. Overnight at the hotel in Saigon.
DAY 10 : SAIGON - CU CHI TUNNELS - SAIGON (B)
This Morning visit Cu Chi Tunnels, one of the few remaining monuments to the Vietnam War. Beneath the ground
lie 200 km of tunnels, dug by hand and inhabited by the forces of the Vietnamese guerillas during the conflict. At its
peak, prior to theTet Offensive in 1968, the tunnel complex was base to almost 10,000 troops. To this day, it
remains one of the most impressive examples of how fierce the war used to be. You even can try to crawl some
dozens of m on the tunnel underground to havethe real experience. Return to Saigon. In Afternoon, your free time
for shopping in the downtown where you can choose many lovely stuff at the very reasonable price. A few places to
be mentioned to visit during your shopping is Ben Thanh Market -the center and typical market of Saigon; Saigon
Square where is a few minutes walking from Ben Thanh Market; An Dong Plaza and its nearby Market; or Diamond
Plaza and Thuong Xa Tax if you are seeking the high qualified and brand name goods. Overnight at the
hotel in Saigon.
DAY 11 : SAIGON - MEKONG DELTA - SAIGON (B/L)
Today proceed to My Tho the homeland of coconut and family factories with local products like coconut candy, rice
paper, etc. On arrival, embark on the boat cruising on the mighty Mekong River viewing the life to the local people
live along the banks. We stop at one of 4 island in the area for sightseeing. Enjoy the fresh tropical fruits served in
the heart of the garden accompanied by traditional southern Vietnamese folk music at the plantation. After that you
will embark on the small boats rowed the the local people thru the small cannels with water coconut tree to visit the
local factories. There you will taste the honey tea and see the local people produce the coconut candy milk and of
course you also can try it or stroll in the garden where the locals feed honeybee. After that enjoy the horse-
cart trip through the tranquil road of the village. We continue getting on the big boat to visit the vast area. Enjoy
your lunch at a local restaurant nearby Mekong River with the Elephant Ear fish. Afternoon, drive back to Saigon
with stop to visit Vinh Trang pagoda, a famous pagoda in the area that its architecture is a mix of Chinese,
Cambodian, and French culture. Overnight at hotel in Saigon.
DAY 12 : DEPART SAIGON (B)
This morning you will be transfer to airport for your flight back home or your next destination.
